History

Algol Chemicals is part of the Algol Group. Algol’s operations began in 1894, when German-born entrepreneur Albert Goldbeck-Löwe established an agency business in Helsinki to supply Finnish industry with metals, industrial chemicals and building materials. In 1899, the company’s founder Albert Goldbeck-Löwe recruited his cousin Ludolf Bargum, who became a shareholder in 1914. The Bargum family has owned Algol ever since.

Algol Chemicals was established as a Group company in 2004. Over the years, the company has expanded geographically and diversified its range of products and services. As the company has grown, it has continued to strengthen its position in international markets.
